Background

Light transmitting panels typically allow more than 85% of the sunlight that is incident to the panels to be transmitted into the building.  The lumens per square foot of work space using sunlight will exceed the amount of lumens currently available using electric lighting part of the day reducing associated lighting costs.  Data for mostly cloudy days in the area is used to determine the minimum amount of expected sunlight. Actual available sunlight will often be greater.
